Terry Wolverton has taught creative writing and performance art to adult students since 1977. She has offered classes and workshops at the Woman's Building, at the UCLA Extension Program, at CalArts, and at the Agape International Spiritual Center. Additionally she has taught at writing retreats in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Hawaii.

In 1986, she launched the Visions and Revisions Writing Program at Connexxus Women's Center/Centro de Mujeres. In 1988, she established the Perspectives Writing Program at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, where she taught until 1997.

In 1997, she founded Writers At Work, a creative writing center where she continues to teach several weekly workshops in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, and to provide creative consultations to writers.

She is also an Associate Faculty Mentor in the MFA Writing Program at Antioch University, Los Angeles.

From 2009-2012 she served as Adjunct Faculty in the M.A. in Arts Management Program at Claremont Graduate University, supervising the capstone projects of M.A. candidates.

She is currently part of a team of consultants teaching Entrepreneurship in the Theater Program of California Institute of the Arts.

She is also a certified instructor of Kundalini Yoga, offering classes at Silverlake Yoga.
